I spent some time by the pool this weekend (hooray for summer sunshine!) and let my mind wander. Here’s where it went. A cool pool on a hot day is one of life’s little luxuries. You don’t have to be a size 4 to rock a bikini – there are some girls who make plus size look fierce and fabulous. It’s all in the attitude. Gravity always wins, so it’s better to make friends with it. Invite it in and pour yourselves a nice stiff drink. Even skinny girls

Earlier this year, Gwyneth Paltrow’s new cookbook, It’s All Good, began popping up all over my radar, thanks to the requisite PR blitz that accompanies all of the golden goddess’ new ventures. A friend of mine received two copies of the book for her birthday, and after spending an afternoon skimming through one, I was intrigued, but not yet convinced to buy (as a general rule I’m not into cookbooks that don’t have accompanying food porn photography). There’s also a selection of food vendors on hand, like artisanal chocolatier Delight, thirst-quenching
